Cat ATC
Okay… I just typed for an hour, and somehow only the title was saved! That’s a real bummer that really p***** me off. And, I can’t insert a picture, the screen just freezes, and I have to hit the little x in the corner. WordPress sucks today.
Craftster.org is having a “no paper allowed” ATC swap. I am sooo excited about it. Sign ups for the G,H,I swap are going on now, and when those are over, the “no paper allowed” one will start. I can’t wait! You have to swap two, but you have the option to be in two groups so you can swap four.
On Sunday, I made a fabric ATC with seashells along the bottom of it. It is very pretty, and I will definitely use it for this swap. However, I’m most excited about the stash of acrylic I have in the garage–perfect for making a non-paper ATC!
First I had to figure out the laser settings to cut acrylic, and that wasn’t easy. I caught a piece of pink acrylic on fire and now it’s all warped and charred (who knows–maybe I can still use it!). Anyway, these are the ones I cut:
1. Out of yellow, I cut a sunshine and dangled a pair of black sunglasses off the edge of it. It sounds cute, but I don’t like it well enough to use it.
2. Also out of yellow, I engraved “SUMMER” a full 3.5″ across and then cut out a sunshine, a pair of sunglasses and a mai tai out of the center. I knotted on all kinds of yellow ribbons at the top of it. This one’s cute, and I MAY use it (not sure).
3. Next, I cut a clear acrylic background and a white daisy. I used my clear labeling tape and wrote “loves me loves me not” down the side. I attached the daisy to the background with a rhinestone brad. This one is also cute, but I’m not THAT trilled with it so I don’t know if I’ll use it or not.
4. My favorite: I engraved “cat” in various languages on a black background and then cut a cat out of the center. Very, very cute, and I will definitely use this one.

5. Finally, I cut out 3 wood blanks. I have some ideas brewing for how to use them, but nothing in stone. Maybe I can glue on some fabric in some fashion or maybe I can paint something.
I’m going to have WAY more than 4, but I’m picky, and I want to make sure they’re swap-worthy.

Black and White Thanks Card on Etsy
I worked on some Thank You cards over the weekend to post on Etsy. This is my favorite one. It’s hard to see, but it has a little red rhinestone on the “T”.
I made this same card with “Love”. I haven’t posted it on Etsy yet because I haven’t taken a picture of it. I’ll post it on the weekend so maybe I’ll get some extra traffic.

OhMyCrafts Complaint #2
So… the saga with OhMyCrafts continues.
I got an e-mail response that they would immediately correct their mistakes, and I was given a credit for the August 07 issue of Cards magazine that was out of stock. And, they would sell me the Cricut cartridge at a discounted rate. Isn’t that nice of them–especially considering I don’t own a Cricut machine. So… I had to tell them, no, that wasn’t a good option for me and I needed to return it to them and get the embossing folder I ordered.
So… The girl sends me their address: 123 East 200 South, Lindon, UT 84042. And, guess what… the package is returned to me with stickers all over it: “Insufficient Address” and “This is a multiple unit address. Suite or Apt # required.”!!! No way!
And… meanwhile, I get a package in the mail from them, and I assumed it was the embossing folder that I’d ordered. Nope. It’s the August 07 Cards magazine that they’ve already credited me for! What kind of ya-hoos are these people? How do they stay in business?
So now I have to re-mail the package back to them–at a different address (a PO box) rather than the mailing address the girl gave me the first time around.
And, despite asking twice now for a status check on the embossing folders I ordered, I’m still yet to get a response.
Needless to say, I will NOT be ordering anything from them again. And that’s sad because they let you pre-order the Cuttlebug Seasonal embossing folders, and I’d LOVE to do that–I just don’t trust them anymore.
