More Cards for the Swap (or for my mom…?)
I made these two cards this morning. I read about a new stamping technique (at least it’s new to me) in the lastest Take Ten magazine. You ink your stamp up then spritz it with water and stamp the image on watercolor paper. Below is what the SECOND impression looks like (the first impression was much more vibrant, but I made a card for my sick grandmother with it, and didn’t get a picture of it before sending it off). The second impression is still pretty, I think.
The second card is loosely made from a Poetic Artistry/Mojo Monday sketch. The sketch has four alternating pieces of paper behind the middle design and no scallop or ribbon. If I make that card over again, I’ll make a square or rectangle for the sentiment instead of the circle. That one has “French Roast” mats behind the center design and the circle (they look black in the photo, but they’re not).

I’ll either send these cards to my mom to use or I’ll save them for the De-Stash Swap I’m in.

Poetic Artistry Sketches
I’ve been playing with some Poetic Artistry card sketches called Mojo Monday. I really enjoy seeing the cards that other people make from sketches, but I’m really not all that good at it. My cards tend to look cluttered and over-worked. However, here’s a card I made, that I think turned out pretty well:

The sketch is a tad bit different; the small square that says “Make a Wish” is supposed to be in the center, right-hand side of the larger block, but I didn’t like what it looked like there so I moved it up.
The first card below is also from the sketches. The second card is my own design, however, I’m POSITIVE there’s a sketch out there like this that someone has copyrighted. Oh, well… I came up with the design on my own. Anyway, for both cards below, I used my new K&Company patterned papers. I stamped the bird (also K&Company) on recycled cardboard which I LOVE using now (watch out cereal boxes, I have a new use for you!).

I’ll probably use all three of these cards for the De-Stash Swap I signed up for on Craftster.
